Morningstar Pinup, originally called 'Morningstar84' began in 2010 on Etsy. After selling vintage for several years locally I had the idea to bring back those amazing iconic styles but with the modern Pinup in mind, by using new types of fabrics and with current sizing.
Growing up when most girls, seeing Audrey Hepburn or Marilyn Monroe, would say ''Oh, I want that dress'' i would say ''I want to MAKE that dress''
And that is how my love of vintage fashion and film has come together to offer my version of some of the most famous clothing items ever worn. I personally have created each and every pattern, after careful study and years of working with customers I have created a collection of items that look vintage but are cut with the modern woman in mind, in fabrics that are more comfortable and easier to care for than the vintage counterparts.
I have been sewing professionally for over 14 years. I have experience with theater costuming, fashion design, pattern draping, vintage clothing reproduction and repair. My work has been featured in ''Town magazine'', ''Belle Magazine'', the cover of ''At Home in the Upstate'' and worn by Miss South Carolina. I do take a limited number of 'custom request orders' each month ( items that i do not usually offer) for Women's clothing only. Send me a message if you are interested, ill be happy to talk details and give a quote.
